Default 06 Antenna Base mounting, what am I missing?

Hi, I recently bought an 06 mustang convertible with a rebuilt front end, one thing that was never completed was the antenna install. It is not secured to the car and I do not want to install the mast without it secured to avoid chewing up my fender. It comes right out and I can tell bolting it in won't do much, what am I missing? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

I am taking a guess that the part your screws are screwed into at the bottom of the antenna base are rivnuts and should be attached to the fender.

When I took my antennae off a few years back, the nuts were attached to the fender. I'm not sure how, because I had no reason to look. But it appears to me that you only have through holes in your fender. Looks like the nuts are missing.

Thanks, they were rivnuts which use a special gun, I couldn't find anyone that had one so I ended up using drywall anchors and larger bolts which so far is working out well.

I would go to a auto body shop and see if they can secure it for you.
