Default tuner and intake

Hi all

I just bought a used bbk cold air intake and a sct tuner. Anyone have any input on this set up? I also have roush axle backs on the car, sounds sweet. The car 2012 5.0 v8 gt convertible. What mods would you all use?

Let me know what you all think. Luke from the north

Assuming your SCT is the correct model for your 5.0 AND the previous owner unlocked it from his engine, then all you need is to order some new tunes for YOUR PCM. I wouldn't load a tune that wasn't written for your engine and mods, if any.

agreed if the tuner is used and the correct model for your car you will have to have it unlocked and buy tunes for your car. I really like the look of the BBK CAI. I'm considering getting one for mine.

As far as mods I'm considering? mostly are going to be appearance mods, the beast has more than enough power for me the way it sits stock. my current thought is a painted radiator cover, chrome caps, custom designed chrome coil covers and wire loom.

What Nuke said, do NOT load the tunes on your car even if the tuner was unmarried from the other car. They were written for the other car computer code. Loading the tune to your car will turn it into a very nice lawn ornament until you have it towed to Ford to be reflashed to stock.

You have to confirm the tuner is UNMARRIED and not just that it has unlocks remaining, and then order tunes for your specific computer code and modifications. Unlocked isn't the important thing, the tuner will have unlocks remaining but can still be married to the previous owner's car. If unmarried it is already unlocked.

If it has been unmarried from the other car then you can order tunes and load them to the handheld and then to your car.

Default did it

Hi guy thanks for your input. Well before I read your advice I had the bbk installed and had a tune loaded. All went well. I tuned it to 91 octane, roush exhaust and cold air intake by bbk. I just changed those setting in the tuner.
Well I feel a big difference in power its goes. One thing I noticed which really surprised me. Before the tune when I filled up with 87 my reading for gas would be 465 km to empty. After the tune when I filled with 91 my reading for gas is now 530 km to empty. So all tuned out good more power, throttle response and better fuel mileage. A little luck I guess. Iknow it was a gamble.
Thanks again guys for your advice.
