Default Owning a 2005 to 2009 Mustang GT

I was thinking about owning between a 2005 to 2009 mustang gt automatic...I really wanted the 2015 mustang ecoboost but probably end up costing me to much money. I currently own a 1991 mustang 5.0 an wanted something more up dated. Is the 05 to 09 models pretty good with the 4.6 engines?

Yup. You get about the same power as a stock Ecoboost but with at least 200lb less weight. With a few basic bolt-ons (CAI, CMDPs, UDPs, LT headers/midpipe, tune) you could easily add 50rwhp/50rwtq and really have some fun.

+1 what Dino x 2 said, yielding roughly 315 RWHP with his stated mods. And you can safely SC up to about 450 RWHP before having to modify internals.

Great years for Mustangs. Much more solid chassis. More horsepower.

They're a workhorse. You really can't go wrong with them.

They can also be built to have pretty strong cornering & handling performance, easy to drive with no unpleasant surprises out near the limit that I've been able to find yet.

As shown and described below ↓↓↓ it can run within a couple of seconds or so per lap of the hundred+ HP stronger SS Camaros with drivers having experience roughly comparable to mine.
