How are they not "all season"? There are many kinds of P Zero Neros, including multiple all season varieties.

the ones that came stock on the S197 are worthless on snow and shouldn't be called "all season." plus, once they're half worn, the outer tread blocks close off and they start being prone to sudden hydroplaning. absolute junk tires.

My Pirelli tires have been great in snow thus far. But I bought a set of chrome rims and tires from AM last year, so I have my gunmetal grey wheels and old tires from when I bought the car. Those tires need replaced, I can barely drive in the rain without feeling that hydroplaning is milliseconds away. So I will most likely get winter tires.

What is a decent model to look for? I don't need the best and spend $200 per tire. jz said to drive them in 40 degree weather. Would be ok to make the change around 50? I usually change out my wheels in the last few years towards the end of October.

I have a set of S197 wheels on my '95, with the P Zero Nero AS tires. I have gone through 5 winters on them, and have not found them them worthless. Still, they don't hold a candle to true winter tires. Like any all-season tire, they are a compromise.

Once these ones reach the end of their usefulness, I want to start using dedicated summer and winter tires.

*shrug* YMMV.

I got caught out in a freak snowstorm when I had my 2010 GT (on the stock P Zero Neros,) and getting moving from a stop I couldn't even simply feather the clutch (with no gas) without the *** end of the car sliding. then in my 2012 GT, with 30,000 miles on them (same tires as the 2010) I had a scary hydroplaning incident on the freeway even though I had "plenty" of tread remaining.
