An 06 GT should have an advantage leaving the hole but at speed it should be close IMO.

You've got more torque, but not as many gears & can't rev as high. Stock for stock.

I also would like to know the actual top speed. Ive heard some people say 143mph an ive heard 153mph stock.

I can verify that the 4.6L V8 has a speed limiter built into the the stock tune for about 145mph with a 3.55 rear end (Mine limited at 142ish)... with a long enough road (like 5 miles straight, downhill, with a tailwind) and the software limiter raised, I would guess 150ish, maybe, 5th gear is so far into overdrive that there is just not a lot of torque left to overcome the aero drag.

The 3.7L v6 was said to be limited at 120. No idea on the ecoboost.

The two are closely matched for HP & TQ, but the '06 GT is 150lb lighter and should beat an Ecoboost in a drag race. It should also beat a 3.7 V6 but keep in mind that the margin in both cases may only be about 0.2sec over a 1/4 mile so the driver will be the deciding factor.

Looking at magazine articles performing road test of these cars the 2006 GT is faster in 1/4 mile but again I'm sure driver has a lot to do with this.

Who is actually stock? LOL A cai and tune will take that stock 06 GT from 13.9s to 13.4s!! Now go smoke that guy with a phat car pmt!
