Default Coolant leak in my 2012

Friday I went out to a large puddle of coolant under my car. The reservoir was 1/2 empty. I took it to the shop where they pressure tested it and could not find a leak anywhere. It hasn't leaked since. Does anyone have any ideas of what it might've been?

Spoke too soon. It did it again. It's leaking down behind the pulleys but I can't get a good look at the place of origin. Water pump?

What engine do you have. The 4.0L V6 has known problem with the plastic thermostat housings cracking and causing coolant to leak and drip down the front of the engine.

3.7L V6. I'll have them check that just in case. Is it a noticeable crack if they take it out look at it?

The 3.7 has had an issue with a small hose that comes off the pump. Originally it didn't have a check valve in it, but starting in 2013 (I think) Ford changed the hose.

Completely different issue from the 4.0 plastic thermostat housing.

Thank you both. Whatever it is, is only happening when I've been driving a while. My 10 minute jaunts to Walmart don't affect it. Taking her to the shop first thing. I just hope they can fix whatever it is, in one day. (With the holidays and all)

Water pump, o-rings and a hose. $411 plus tax. Merry Christmas to me. They had to order parts. Won't be in till Friday. Joy

How many miles on the car? I think this repair is covered by the five year or 60,000 miles Engine warranty.

30,000 checked with the dealership and with Ford and they both said "no." Ford did tell me to keep my receipt though in case there's ever a recall on the water pump I can get reimbursed.

Hmm. I guess Ford changed its warranty. The warranty booklet for my 2007 specifically mentions the water pump as being covered 5/60.

Edit: I did a Google search for the 2012 Ford Mustang warranty, and it says the water pump IS covered. On what grounds is Ford denying coverage?

Check out page 10.
