Default 2007 cigarette lighter/power point in dash

I know the fuse for the power points are under the hood, each on a separate fuse. I recently had the sjb replaced because, you guessed it, water damage passenger side. My power point in console seems to be working fine. The one in the dash doesn't work. I took the panel above the shift out and for a minute the plug worked. Then it didn't. I think I'm gonna disconnect the wires and run them straight off the sjb. I found an empty slot on the sjb with constant power. I wish to confirm since it originally used a 20amp fuse, is it ok to put a 20amp in the empty slot on the sjb. I know I need the 20amp fuse. I'm just trying to verify that it's ok to put a 20amp fuse in a empty slot.

Thanks.

You could also wire it directly to the battery with an inline fuse.

could be a bad ground. my console socket didn't work when I bought my GT, looked at all the fuses and grounds, turned out there was a dime inside it. probably not your problem, especially with the one on the dash but could be something simple. good luck
