Default Water leaked into my car!

Hi! I have a 2014 California Special Mustang. On my way home from work last week (in the pouring rain) I heard what sounded like water hitting the passenger side fender well REALLY HARD when I turned the steering wheel.

I was somewhat concerned but figured it must have been due to how hard it was raining and the amount of water on the road. However, when I got home and started getting items out of the car, I discovered that the carpet underneath the passenger seat was SOAKED! Along with the whole back floorboard on that side! Yet the front floorboard was dry as a bone - with the exception of just underneath the glove box and running alongside the edge.

Does anyone know what could have caused this? My husband has jacked the car up, looked everywhere and cannot find a hole anywhere.

Just an FYI, I purchased the car brand new and have not had any problems prior to this incident. But I've never driven it in that kind of deluge either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That specific problem was on the 05-09 models. I don't know if the 10+ models have the same type of issue.

Anyways, if you check under the passenger side cowel where the cabin air filter is installed there is a rubber grommet that is supposed to allow water to drain that may enter that cowel. If the grommet is plugged, it will backflow into the passenger compartment.

Here's a vid for a 05-09 model, the 10+ should be similar if they have the same grommet.

If it's still under warranty have the dealer look at it.
