1. thanks cause I don't have one

2. it takes 8 years for a phd

3. hardly a "kid", even if you entered college at 18 add the 8 years for the phd, and you get at least 26

4. average salary closer to 80k

5. My mom doesn't have a basement

6. Haven't lived with mom for a while now

7. My kid could tell you a CAI is for looks and noise and something to talk about at the bar but won't win you any races on it's own.

8. I've yet to incur student debt of my own(although paying the wifes is quite fun)

9. I don't have any bench testing to show you, oh wait yes i do.

after a long computational examination, the bench tested "O.K."

10. your blue text is quite obnoxious but, so is everything else about your attitude.

there's my top ten reasons why I can't take you phony bologna phast and phurious McDonald's Parking Lot Car Club Of America (MPLCCOA) street racers seriously. please return to watching "street outlaws" or whatever you gents are doing these days.

However not all cold air intakes are made equal. Some are pretty good and others are wallet-lightening garbage, especially the "no tuned required" versions.
considering a 100 dollar bill weighs about 1 gram, and all other bills being equal lets do the math:

airaid costs 356.90 at american muscle

so minimum 3 hundos, one fifty, a five, and a one, plus at least 3 quarters@5.7g , a dime@2.3g and a nickle@5g were talking about at least

30.4 grams, that weight savings could equate to a faster car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
along with the 7HP gain, that car is gonna drop a full second in the quarter mile. guaranteed!

ET's are not the be-all, end-all answer to the question of whether anybody's cold air kit & tune is worthwhile. Only in the very narrow world of drag racing where mostly all you need for fueling is basically a one-dimensional line across a 2-D fuel map. Not quite at WOT = you lose, right, so the rest of the map counts for nothing, right?

Have you ever done any of your own tuning for part throttle and midrange & lower rpm use? EFI tuning only, please. 40 years ago I was working with carbs too.

Gotcha, doing everything from behind a keyboard. The different intake on the gt350 is a mind **** from ford right? Everyone should have just got a new edge. Thank god we got internet engineers on this sight to keep us straight. Not ever CAI requires a tune. Where does the extra power come from those intakes? Butterfly's or magic? When you guys wanna compare slips instead of dyno results. I'll stop back in. But it looks like a me all you got is a dyno run. And you don't even believe the numbers. That and a bunch of YouTube facts.
I had already posted another thread on the CAI issue. I also don't believe in them precisely because I bought a C&L racer intake. As far as us being internet dyno racers, maybe some are, but not all.

My car ran 13.61 @ 103.58 bone stock, and 13.31 @ 104.68 after installing a JLT series 3 CAI with Brenspeed 91 octane custom tune. I couldn't give a rat's *** if the performance gain only came from the tune or from the CAI/tune combo. The bottom line is I was happy with the result and for me, the $580 was money well spent.
Even if the CAI itself yielded 0hp, the induction roar on acceleration is addictive.

yes, your tune produced results and the CAI produced feedback. could you imagine paying for just the tune? there would be many people saying it didn't do anything because there was no additional noise. I say worth the money, but understand the tune is what is making an actual difference.

You're lucky you can hear the induction roar. My car makes so many noises from the engine, especially the lifters, and the exhaust is so loud and the suspension rattles and the body creaks so much I honestly can't hear the induction

Have you been driving your car on cobblestone roads all of its life?
Mine's still as solid as a bank vault with no rattles or squeaks, and the engine's butter smooth with no noises other than the normal clicking of the injectors at idle when the hood's open.
