Default 2014 Water in Door

Hello all,
We had some heavy rain last night and today when I got into my car I noticed the sound of water sloshing around. When I stopped I figured out it was coming from the passenger side door. I was able to open it and fiddle with the plug at the bottom until a ton of water came pouring out. My question is whether or not this will cause problems and also, will ford just tell me this is normal. I actually have an appt to get my 5,000 mile service (oil change) and want to have them look at it. The service at this dealership is generally awful though so I want to make sure I have as much info as possible when I get there. I also want to make sure they acknowledge the issue since it's still under warranty for the next few months.
Thanks!

It is normal for every car, believe it or not. Water gets between your window, and your weather strip, and is supposed to drain from the bottom of your door. I would suggest that since you had that much water pooled, to get your weather stripping replaced, or checked.

Thanks so much. That's what I thought. I think the main issue was probably the drain not releasing the water.
Appreciate the response.

Frankly speaking it doesn't seem normal to me. Because my cars never had water in them. While your car is under warranty I would definitely take it to the dealer and have them take a look at it. At least call them and ask. They may ask you to bring it for a check up.

Thanks again. Took it to the dealership this morning and they told me to just make sure that the vent at the bottom of the door isn't blocked, which makes sense. That being said, when I got home I noticed that I have a very noticeable ticking noise coming from the drivers side of the car. Can't tell exactly where it is coming from but it is apparently fairly common. I started another thread about it.

There are two drain plugs on the bottom of each door, pull them out and throw them away. Problem solved. Every car side window glass allows some rain to drain through the door. If they were "water tight" you wouldn't be able to operate the window.
FWIW, I pulled them on my Mustang the first week i owned it (and every other car i own as well).

^This, they pull right out. You can keep them for piece of mind and reinstall them later if needed.
