Default Brembo 4-piston caliper vs 2015+ GT 4-piston caliper

So I happened to notice that the 2015+ GT now comes stock with 4-piston calipers up front. They aren't Brembos but they look similar.

I also noticed that these brakes use the same 14" rotor as the 07-13(?) GT500/11-14 Brembo GT, yet the 2015+ GT brakes will clear an 18" wheel.

Are the Brembo calipers that much bigger? I'm thinking about upgrading to some 2015-2016 18" OEM wheels and doing a brake upgrade at the same time. I wouldn't mind doing the Brembos (especially since you can get remanufactured calipers fairly cheap nowadays) but if the 2015+ GT brakes will clear the 18's, that would be great especially since I haven't found any of the 19" OEM wheels that I'm really crazy about.

They are made by Brembo, therefore, they are. However, they probably won't have the same part numbers for pads as they are manufactured for OEM and built a little different so that Brembo can sell Brembo brakes as they are deemed better than OEM brakes. They are good brakes, can't really go wrong with 4 piston calipers. The size of the 2105 performance pack Brembo 15" makes them way better. Worth the money? If you do lots of track days, yes, otherwise no.

So the 2015 GT calipers are made by Brembo? I was not aware. So I guess they're just unpowdercoated, unfancy versions. I also noticed they don't have that exposed crossover hardline like the earlier Brembo calipers did, which I think is nice.

So, if I get 2015 calipers and the 14" rotors from the GT500 they will match? No offset to correct or bracket to make?

Again from what I've seen it's not dead on but close. The one guy said they needed like ~1/16"shims to center up.

So RockAuto showed that they had Motorcraft reman 2015 GT calipers in stock. I ordered both sides and both brake hoses because I was too curious to see if they were actually available.

Last night I got an email from them saying "some items from your order are out of stock." I went to the order expecting to see that the calipers were out of stock but it was actually the hoses, so I switched them to some Centric ones that were in stock. I got calipers and hoses for $330, which is less than I saw a pair of calipers with the hoses cut off go for on ebay just a few days ago.

So, they are out there, and the price is not overly ridiculous.
