I Just noticed my paint bubbling in 2 spots on my 2011 GT Premium (38,500 miles) hood; both of which are at the seam where the hood rolls underneath. No pictures available, as my car is getting a new bumper cover for some jagoff who backed into me with his trailer ball.

typically your gonna pay 6 to 700 for them. And then the paint will probably be another 1000 if they do it right

I looked into both a Carbon Fiber and a Fiberglass hood. Both hoods that I was interested in are the same weight at 35 lbs. However the Fiberglass one is waaaaay less expensive.

actually I think I may have paid 1200 for the paint but they blended into the rest of my car. They didn't just paint the hood.

The best quality (fit and finish) will probably be TruFiber (be careful if you want carbon fiber as they also make fiberglass), the lightest weight will be tiger racing or siebon. Stage 3 Motorsports may be the lowest price for trufiber.

On my 2006, dealership just quoted me $1200 for new aluminum hood and $900 for paint (blended into both fenders). Had some hood paint damage, and may bite the bullet and get the new hood too. Excited for a fresh paint job on my baby tho.

Thats good they are gonna blend it in. My paint job was bit more but I had a little detail work done on my eleanor hood. You might consider a different hood especially for 1200.
