Default To shed some light on '10 buyers!

Well I just wanted to shed some light on AAFES military sales buyers. I ordered my car May 18. The car is finished and is in the process of being shipped, delivery is July 31st. I DID have the accessories package, nav, lojacked etc etc.

So the car was pretty much built in a lil over a month. So anyone else shopping AAFES I highly recommend it for military personal ;D

My brother just ordered his 10 Mustang through AAFES. I would have ordered mine through there but I was told I needed to be on active duty. Being in the reserve sucks. I can't wait for my reenlistment date.

I believe you have to be overseas for at least 6 months to order through AAFES.

How do we go about ordering through aafes? off their website or just in a local BX/PX? I didn't know this was even an option...

Hi airforce guy,

Well I am army and what I did was I went to my powerzone area of the base and there is a dealership right in front of the powerzone (on the base) that sells vehicles through the military, its called Military Sales Corp. (ran through AAFES of course). They pretty much only sell Fords.

You have to be either deployed ovrseas for at least 30 days or you have to be stationed overseas.

Per the AAFES website:
In order to be eligible to purchase a vehicle from Exchange New Car Sales at excellent prices with guarantees of satisfaction available nowhere else in the world, you must be:

A member of the U.S. Military or civilian component (including DOD contractors) who are authorized to purchase through the Army and Air Force Exchange / Navy Exchange Service Command.
You must be on active status and stationed overseas outside of the 50 United States on either PCS, TDY or other assignment orders of 30 consecutive days or more.
If you meet these criteria, then you may be eligible to take advantage of our program, which includes a Lowest Price Guarantee, a Pre-Negotiated Low Price, Exclusive Military Rebates and much more. Click on the "Get a Quote" button and find out how much we can save you.

Default If you're activated you are considered active.

If you're guard or reserve and you get activated, that's considered active duty too. As an example if you go to Iraq or some other overseas location for 180 days, you can probably order through AAFES new car sales. Also, Mario118 didn't they say you can only order a vehicle to be picked up when you return back stateside?

**update**

Here's an update of what I gathered. When you are deployed in a combat zone first off the rebates are much friendlier (I had a chance to check that first hand before I left but didnt have enough time to place the order). If you order out of a combat location they can only deliver stateside. So if you are returning back to germany for example and won't PCS anytime soon, then it is up to you to ship the car OCONUS once it arrives CONUS.

Secondly, if you order the vehicle from europe the car has two options, shipped stateside or shipped to certified locations within germany. I have not heard of italy being an applicable site for OCONUS delivery.

Hope this helps.
