Default double-u tee eff?

So someone cracked my passenger side tail light. I would like to find out who it is so I can beat them to a bloody pulp. Anyway, I went to Ford to get a replacement and it costs $320 plus $60 labor!? WTF!? The warranty doesn't cover it either so I'm quite pissed.

Also, am I the first 2010 on the forums to get a speeding ticket in it? Damn speed traps...

Bummer about the tail lamp! My guess is the price comes from the LEDs inside (I would bet they replace the whole thing as a unit). And yeah--warranty is gonna leave you high and dry because it didn't break on its own. I'd give a +1 to calling up your insurance company.

And if you found who did it and ran, I will gladly head down to GA to help you and robinsonda1 beat the crap out of them.

I haven't contacted the insurance company yet. I'm afraid they might hike the payments up for this. Do any of you think so?

I had 2 brand-new tires slashed on my old truck (along with about 20 other cars in the parking lot), I claimed it (claim = $300 or so), and my rates didn't go up. I really had nothing to do with the damage--it wasn't any kind of 'moving' incident. Same thing here--you weren't even around the car when it happened. You already have a certain dollar amount built-in to your premium that you pay based on the 'average' amount of property damage claims in your area. That's why you have to give 'em the ZIP code when you apply for a policy, and why rates differ by area.

Unless all your neighbors start filing property damage claims too, or if your car gets damaged every other week, I don't think you'll see an increase. But then again, it *IS* insurance companies we're talking about here...
