I like the rear end of the 10, except for the black plastic around the bottom. It makes it look cheap and unfinished. If they finished it all around with color, I would like it. On another note, the interior is great.

actually if you keep that plastic clean and use armorall , it looks good...
Like others have said, I like everything about the 2010 exterior (rear included) except the black trim around the bottom of the car
If the black plastic on the rear end is the only thing that bothers you, then you have nothing to worry about....I can absolutely guarantee you that the aftermarket is already working on several new designs that eliminate or minimize that nasty black plastic. I'm sure there will be some really nice aftermarket replacements that help out in that area.
However, I'm even more disappointed in the alien-designed taillights on the 2010. And I doubt we'll see anything in the aftermarket that can fix that problem, mostly because it would be extremely costly for an aftermarket company to develop/manufacture newly designed taillights that don't have the same overall shape of the originals. I think the only hope is that Ford recognizes the fact that so many people hate the design of the taillights and they are quick to redesign them. Remember the nose on the original Subaru Tribeca? It was so ugly that it had a negative affect on sales, so Subaru was very quick to redesign in and sales picked up tremendously. We can only hope the same thing happens with the new Mustang!
You do realize the '05 - '09 GT500 has black plastic along the bottom as well right? ...
That's not even a good comparison. The black plastic along the lower rear bumper of the '09 GT500 is MUCH less offensive and in no way even comparable to the black plastic along the bottom of the 2010 Mustang. Hell, the black plastic even cuts into the license plate area on the new Mustang.
But still, enough about the black plastic. For people who find it ugly like I do, well, it's going to be an easy fix with the help of the aftermarket. Other guys will just paint it body color, which helps a little bit, but is still not a good fix in my opinion because the black plastic is still raised, not anywhere near flush with the rest of the bumper cover.

My 2 cents worth, I haven't owned a Mustang in years, didn't care to much for 96-04 models, liked the 05-09 but not enough to buy one, then I saw the 2010 in Grabber blue and fell in love, had one ordered within a week of seeing that Grabber blue 10, so all I can say is Fords new look works for me, I like it enough, that I had to have one..... I can't say that about the past years.

Okay, so are you saying that the COLOR is what attracted you, or the design? It's not really clear.... If the '09 was available in Grabber Blue, would you have wanted one?
Everywhere i go i see people gawking at my 2010, i get alot of compliments...none of them negative. i find that the 2010 Stang attracts non mustang owners whether they drive american or import. Previous mustang owners are the only ones so far that object to the new design look and thats ok ...
I don't see why there's all this need to bitch about or defend the new Mustang's design. No amount of bashing on the car is gonna stop the people who like it from buying it. No amount of defending it is gonna convince a hater to want to go out and buy it. So what's the point? Everyone just gotta get their 2 pesos on the record or something? Having a discussion or two about it is fine and all, but we've been at this nonstop for 4 to 5 months now. Enough already.

This is a Mustang forum....and we are Mustang enthusiasts. Of course we're going to discuss a new Mustang design at length, whether we love it or hate it. The fact of the matter here is that the new styling is probably the most controversial Mustang subject since the Internet was invented by Al Gore. So don't get your undies twisted in a knot because we continue to talk about it...
