Personally, I don't think that it's a matter of which rear end looks better but rather which is more fitting for the Mustang. I was at a dealer where they had '09's mixed in with '10's and while I wouldn't call the new taillight configuration /rear panel ugly, it just didn't look right on the Mustang. I had the impression that I was looking at an import. Sometimes, simpler is better. No matter, when I'll trade in on the '11, I'll have to learn to live with it but I hope that by then, there will be an aftermarket alternative.

I agree that the new rear end styling looks like it belongs on an import. The shape of the taillights reminds of of the Honda Accord coupe. The rear-mounted antenna looks like it came right off of a Scion Tc.

Those that don't like the rear on the new car keep calling it import looking....saying it looks like this cars tail lights or that cars tail lights. Funny thing is, not one pic that has anyone produced shows it to look even close to what they stated.

Let's see those pics of said Honda Accord Coupe tail light shape that the new 2010 rear lights look like!! I might have to give you the rear antenna though...

Of course the taillight shape isn't identical on the Accord coupe. I said that the new Mustang taillights remind me of the Accord coupe. It's not just the taillights, but also the forward slope to the rear end that the 2010 Mustang has that is very much like the Accord coupe. Even the small lip spoiler on the Accord reminds me of the small rear spoiler that I've seen on several 2010 Mustangs. Overall, the entire rear end of the new Mustang definitely reminds me of the Honda Accord.

Actually you said the shape reminds you of the Accord Coupe rear lights..so again... I don't see it not in that pic either.

It does remind me of the Accord rear lights. But again, it's not JUST the taillights, but the overall design of the rear end... including the forward slope, the lip spoiler, etc...

Overall, I am not a fan of the rear end of the 2010. One specific thing--When I looked at one up close, at first it seemed as though the lower side of the trunk lid next to the taillights was misaligned. Upon further inspection, it appeared that this is a design thing. The trunk lid extended out from the taillights, creating the appearance of a gap. I think this looks awful. The 2005-2009 fit is nice and even.
