I have 2010 GT w/a satellite capable radio, meaning that is not quite complete
enough for sat. radio. Dealer said he could be upgraded to be satellite ready
but can't tell me what I need to do to get it there, does anyone know what
needs to be done and the cost?

There is a forum member named FordEngineer on here you actually worked on this setup and would probably be the perfect person to address any questions related to what may be needed to add this for your car. He is a dictionary full of info on this cars stereo equipment

cooooop, I'm assuming you got the standard AM/FM/6-disc CD setup? If so, there should actually be a button with 'Sirius' written on it somewhere on the radio button bezel. If you push it, it should give you some indication of what to do next. If you have a 6-month trial that came with the car, it should start playing some music (though I think it's set to the Weather/Emergency channel by default). If not, you should get some kind of message on the display like 'Call Sirius' with a phone number.
The good news is that your car already has the satellite antenna hooked up (there should be the little puck antenna on your trunklid). Your car's CAN bus (high-speed network that interfaces with all the control modules) is already able to use the antenna to receive and process GPS signals (for the latest version of SYNC with the traffic, directions, and information update) if you decide to get that upgrade (psst: it's free). What that means for you is that there shouldn't be any kind of wiring or physical hookups you'll need to worry about. That's all done. All you'll need to do is get your subscription activated if and when you want to start listening to Sirius. For that, check with Sirius to determine what info you'll need.
Now, unfortunately, I don't deal directly with the satellite radio part of the infotainment systems. The good news, though, is that the guy who does is just down the hall from me. So if the info I gave you gets you nowhere, let me know and I'll go ambush the sat radio guy and see if he can give me better info.
Best of luck. Hope you're enjoying the car!

Quick update: If you don't have a radio bezel button with 'Sirius' on it, keep pressing the 'Media' button on the bezel (or the music note-looking button on the steering wheel--be careful though, it's a 2-way toggle button) to scroll through all your media options until you get to satellite radio.

I didn't think the deluxe had the steering wheel radio controls?

Thanks for the info. My car doesn't have the satellite antenna on the car. The radio does however have Sirius button and when I press it gives a message like "unavailable" or something like that, I don't remember right
now. The vehicle sticker lists the car as the radio as satellite capable. When
I asked the salesman about this, he said it was upgradeable to Sirius by
adding the Sat. antenna and a wiring harness. After purchasing the car,
I inquired further about getting this done but no one at the dealership is
clear on what needs to be done and what parts it will take let alone the cost.
