Default Shifter question

Does anybody know what the difference is between a 2009 and prior GT 5-spd shifter and the 2010?

Is there any physical difference? Some places actually have 2 different part numbers between the years, just wondering what it may be.

Also, I'm getting the idea that this transmission is different from the T5 in that it's not an internal rail shifter, is that right?

Anybody have any in-depth info (operating characteristics, pros/cons between this and other trannys, IPB's, etc.)?

The reason I ask is because I'm looking at getting an aftermarket shifter, but don't want to buy the wrong thing!

Thanks!

Paul

The 2010 definitely has a different shifter setup. I'm interested in getting either the Roush, or the new Ford Racing one, M-7210-MGTA (http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11174) -- designed by Ford Racing and Hurst.

Both shifters are 2010 specific.
