Default Attention Shaker 500 and Shaker 1000 Owners need HELP!!

hey guys, my car is back at the dealer for some minor body issues that happend at the factory. In the mean time I want to build my audio system, I want to replace the speakers in the vehicle. I have a GT Deluxe and only have the 4 speaker system which I personally think sounds Horrible My 01 GT stock speakers even sound better. Anyway Im looking at going with JL or Polk Audio, I was just going to have the shaker installed in mine but after people just said there is better stuff on the market than spending all that money to just have a stock speaker put back in place of it! What I would like to know is that the kick panels you guys have for the extra two speaker in the front door, are they just drilled into the door or are there cut outs of those to be inserted? What would need to be done so I could get those speaker grills on my doors? And what speakers would fit those and what would fit in place of the stock speakers? Sorry dont know much about audio, but do the shakers have a component system what is all in the doors? Sorry if confusing! Need help planning my upgrade and I will probably keep my stock headunit since theres nothing that is out for them without cutting.

Honestly I think you are going to be a pioneer if you go down this route. So far I haven't seen any kind of aftermarket stereo installations.

There may not be many quality head-unit mounting kits on the market yet so if it's truly unbearable you may just want to upgrade the speakers for now and change out the head unit later down the road.

Depending on how much you want to spend you could go as far as getting a line-level converter (such as the JL Audio Cleansweep [jlaudio.com]) to add amplifiers and not mess with the factory HU. This is great if you want premium sound but retain the stock look for whatever reason.

Speaking of speakers I got the Shaker 1000 and for a stock unit it sounds great, lots of bass sounds real good. I am impressed again for a stock unit. My question: The shaker 500 has 8 speakers and the shaker 1000 has 10. I have only been able to find 8 where are the other two located?

Doors = 1 sub each door, and one speaker total 4 speakers
Rear Deck = 2 Speakers total 6 speakers
Trunk = 2 subs in enclosure total 8 speakers

I can not find the other two am I lame or what?

Here is a good thread for reference on another forum: http://www.fnsweet.com/forums/05-09-...-speakers.html

Sounds like just switching the factory 6x8s can yield pretty great results.

I believe the upper door speakers are two way speakers so they are counted as 2 each.

AH that makes sense then. When it is time to change out my speakers I am going to let a pro do it hopefully they won't mess up like I would surely do.
