Still waiting to see official word from FORD before I get overly excited.

Yuh, if there is a 5.0 for 2011 I will wait for the 2012 (to get the bugs worked out) and sell my 08 to pick one up. Or get it for my wife. Eitherway I'm not holding my breath until I see it on the lot or on the Ford Website.

and this.

Still, all the rumors make complete sense and I think they are most likely true.

No it is not a slap in the face of 2010 owners, Ford knew that the new model would have all the 'gotta-have-its' buying them up, while the real performance enthusiasts would be sitting and waiting, because of the at that point and time, rumored 5.0.

All of the 5.0 news/leaks/whatever you want to call them, have been controlled leaks by Ford, dropping hints and throwing bones to their performance fans.

It is a marketing strategy.
Just a correction for you.. As a curent 2010 owner I was not a "gotta-have-it's". I was a I drove it and liked it alot more than my '05 GT. With the tranny issues I had and the fact that Ford worked me a great deal I decided to buy it now before something more serious happened to it that Ford would again refuse to cover. Since the '05 car was hardly driven..I could have left it sitting in the garage and lose even more money on it by waiting another year. I chose to buy it because I LIKED it and because un-like others I don't have to try and have the most HP on the block. I knew all about the 400 HP rumors and STILL chose to get the 2010 because I WANTED IT NOW and I CAN AFFORD IT and ITS MY MONEY TO DECIDE WHEN I WANT IT and most importantly...wait for it..... The exta HP was not all that important to me. I already know how to mod the 4.6 to make it pretty damn quick if I choose to.

It's also ignorant to state that only the real performance enthusiast are waiting for the 5.0. Your also insulting all the people who bought a '09 because they didn't like the 2010 body-style KNOWING the 5.0 was coming. U basically just insulted everyone who bought an '09 and a 2010 within the last 4 months...since that is how long at least the 5.0 rumor has been "confirmed"

We have been hearing this for a while. The thing that i am mostly interested with is what will the BOSS look like? Im already waiting for the 5.0 next year, but i might even have to wait till the BOSS to see what it will look like. I also hope that they don't make the 5.0 a high compression like the camaro, that way we can still throw a supercharger with 10lbs of boost!

Why don't you just buy a built 302 now? You'll probably spend less money if you're car is already paid off.

IMO it is not a fact until Ford announces it. The sales of the 2010's will pay a huge part if the rumored 5.0L will be a 2011. With the Lots full of Mustangs that are not moving all that well I don't think there will be a change until after 2011. Maybe for a special edition..BOSS...which I think is very possible.

I have a 2010 and consider myself to be a real performance enthusiast. Waiting for the next best thing to come out will have you waiting forever. And the old, tried and true 4.6L can be made to have more power than most of the "real performance enthusiast" can handle.

+1 wilkinda

I guess I'm not a "real performance enthusiast." My 11 sec Grand National, my mid 12 sec Chevelle, and my low 12 sec '89 GT must not have been "performance" cars.

A 5.0 in the F150 will suck.
As it is, the 4.6 is a joke and if you tow, better be on flat lands!!

I hope there will be the 6.0 option like in the Raptor...
