Default 2011 Powertrain Confirmed

The most significant development is the confirmation of the V6 powerplant, which will be a 3.7L 315hp V6.

The "Coyote" is no surprise.

Cool.

Still won't believe it until it is released for real by Ford.

"likely change"="confirmed"????
If true it would make for an impressive line.. and smoke the crap outta chebby! That'd be awesome of course, though my 2010 will def need the boost so as not to look slow by its sister models.

IF this is true about the GT's getting the 5.0, I wonder how much they are going to jump the price :/

Listen to afoust50. This could be true. Then again maybe not.

If it is then this is an incredibly large bump. 85hp over the previous model year. That's the largest power spike from one model to the next that I know of. Kind of a slap in the face for those people that bought the 2010.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reality falls short of the expectations.

+1 that is a huge jump from one year to the next. Im guessing they will stick the 3.7L in there but keep it at 273 for the V6. The V8 may be the 5.0 or a higher output 4.6L with the 5.0 being an option.

It is a reality.

No it is not a slap in the face of 2010 owners, Ford knew that the new model would have all the 'gotta-have-its' buying them up, while the real performance enthusiasts would be sitting and waiting, because of the at that point and time, rumored 5.0.

All of the 5.0 news/leaks/whatever you want to call them, have been controlled leaks by Ford, dropping hints and throwing bones to their performance fans.

It is a marketing strategy.

Nope... the 4.6L, and the N//A 5.4 are totally dead after this model year. They are being replaced with the 5.0 ACROSS THE BOARD. Meaning, no more 4.6 in the mustang, no more 5.4 in the trucks, its going to be 5.0 everywhere..

lol

It's not a "reality" until it's on the lot. Didn't you read the post earlier in the thread from a guy who also works for Ford? He was skeptical. I can't say I blame him.
