Some interesting responses to the OPs question. I bought my X3 from American Muscle and filled out a form describing the car, provided the computer code and any modifications, just K & N filter and a MagnaFlow cat-back exhaust, so they could develop the tunes. I could have gotten 3 tunes but, opted for 91 & 87 octane performance tunes. After uploading the 91 octane tune the car had better throttle response and generally felt stronger throughout the entire rpm range, chirping the tires in 2nd and 3rd gear is not problem, although I could do that with the stock tune as well. I've had that tune for about 2 months and haven't experienced any issues. I also have a Brenspeed 91 octane tune and I can say the same about it as I did the AM tune; there really doesn't seem to be much difference between the two. They both have one thing in common; the engine cooling fan runs constantly, even on days when the temperature is mild. I've changed the temperature parameters for both low and high speed fan settings to no avail....the fan still runs constantly.

I know Bama has been a little backed up on completing orders...does anyone know what the current turnaround time is with Bamachips?

I tried calling them multiple times today without an answer (not a good sign). I also sent an email but have not received a response. F

rom everything I read, on this thread and others, I would like to get the Bamachips tunes, however not sure about them if there customer service is this bad!

I got my CAI and Tuner (with 3 custom tunes) from John DeMolet:

www.tunableinduction.com

Same deal there. You give him your computer code and he creates the tunes and loads them onto the SCT-X3 tuner.

I run the 93 Octane Tune and can tell you it's a MAJOR improvement from stock. My V6 doesn't feel like one at all.....

My bama tune did this as well so I changed the low fan to something like 194 and the high to 206 and it only runs now "when it should". Strange yours didn't "take".

Well, got my car back from the dealer today. They said there was some sort of leak in the intake letting air bypass computer control. Not exactly sure what they mean but it's definitely fixed.

Bama sent me new tunes but I furnished them the wrong serial # for my X3...doh! So, guess I'll have to wait a couple days for Doug to fix that.

I'll say this, Bama must be overrun with business (or shorthanded, or both) cause they are slow but the tune is sooo worth it.

Also, I cancelled the email tune order with Brenspeed. Waited a week and nothing...I could walk to Indiana that fast. Sort of.

Glad you got it fixed. Before I ordered mine, I test drove one and about 3 minutes into it the check engine light came on and it started cutting out really bad. It wouldn't rev over 2k and I had to nurse it back to the dealer. In first it was bucking back and forth pretty bad. So I test drove another one.

Same deal here too...called all last week, nothing. So I emailed and nothing yet. I am ready to spend some cash!!! I guess bamatunes has a recession proof business! Gonna have to be patient.

I have been talking to them via email. I got a response back the next day.
I order the C&L intake and SCT X3 from them and was told it would be shipping out Monday. I have another dyno that I will be doing this week so hopefully I'll have it.
