I'm sort of kicking myself over buying my car. Not because I bought my car, but because I bought my car...........
too soon
You see, when I bought my car, I didn't realize that there was going to be a 400 HP monster out there within the next year. I wish I would have waited now.
I had promised myself that I didn't want to ever do another mod again, because of how it trashes out your car, but now I am finding myself thinking about adding a super charger to it, or possibly trading it in when the 2011's come out.
I am leaning toward just paying Ford to install a super charger, so at least I will then feel like the car hasn't be ripped all to pieces and the job be done professionally right.
If I try to trade the car in, I know that will cost me more than the cost of the modifications.....prossibly a lot more.
Any of you kind of wish you had waited a little? 20 Horsepower wouldn't bother me, but a ~100 HP difference is a lot, guys.

You did the right thing. You can't wait forever for the "perfect" anything. Enjoy yourself NOW.

Very well said! I was starting to feel a little bit of remorse myself. Maybe that's why I try to keep my mileage low just in case down the road I do decide to trade in my car for a possible 5.0? Hmm, lol...see while even agreeing with the above post, I still have remorse haha...but I agree, no point waiting for the "perfect" car...enjoy what you have now, and take it from there. (It's tough I know)...

Absolutely right! Just be thankful your alive to enjoy your car. Car companies are always gonna bring out faster and better cars, but I think superchargers are the equalizers!
Also I bet if the 5.0 comes out, it would be close to impossible to get it even at MSRP, dealers are gonna milk that as long as they can. I would never pay more than 40,000 for a gt unless 500 was attached to the name.

2010 Mustang GT Manual + 3.73 gears with lots of mods!
I had time to consider this before I placed my order. I knew of the "RUMORS" that the 5.0 is coming in 2011. Of course we really don't know if that is TRUE and even if it is, we don't know what the power will really be.
I still decided to go with the 2010 and the 4.6L - My thoughts are this: the 5.0 is an unknown. We don't know how reliable it will be. It is a first year engine release, not just first year in the Mustang but first year in any Ford. We know the 4.6 is a brute. You have to work pretty darn hard to kill the 4.6 as it has proven itself to be reliable and solid even under pressure (forced induction). Since I plan on keeping my 4.6 stock, I should not have to worry about durability even if I thrash it. I would much prefer the last year of tried and true rather than the first year of new and untested in the real world. I know it is vastly different, but does anyone remember the 6.0L PS Diesel debacle? Not good.
As for performance - The 2010 hauls a$$. It is plenty fast. If you are planning on going to the drag strip, you are most likely going to mod it anyway. But for stock, it is really fast and really fun. Does it really matter that some guy in a GM might have a bit more juice? How often are you gonna run a stoplight drag race and does it really matter?
The only thing that I think would be nice is to have the 6 speed manual. Although for the most part that is all about fuel economy and I didn't think about fuel economy when I ordered a V8 pony car.
Enjoy what you have. There will always be another new model out there. We would have to buy a new computer about every two weeks if we wanted to keep up in that world.
I think it's great Ford is upping the ante so to speak. Would you be happier if the '11 had LESS power? Nothing to look forward to then!
Personally, I had been back and forth trying to decide on a new car for a couple years when I decided on the '10 GT. I ordered mine in March when the 5.0 was really a rumor but I just didn't want to wait another year and a half for an "unknown".
Bottom line is driving my car is an incredible experience to me...most fun I've ever had on four wheels. No remorse.
In 2008, chevy came out with the limited edition Z06 corvette. It was the only Z06 that came in crystal red. It also came with a premium price of about 90K. They only made about 505 of these cars. Just two years later, chevy made all Z06's available in crystal red totally dissing those special edition buyers. They also came out with the Grand Sport which put the Z06 body on the regular C6 frame. How do you think that made Z06 owners like me feel? What I'm saying is don't get all bummed out about this. Car companies do this all the time to attract new buyers. Just consider it part of the game and enjoy your car.

I'm currently shopping for a new coupe and am contemplating Camaro V6/SS, Mustang GT 10/11.
One thing that's not mentioned in the news about the 2011 Mustangs is whether there will be a price increase. I could see the GT base being raised to $30k to match the SS with the Premium being bumped to $34k like the 2SS.
Keeping that in mind and possible upcoming incentives (to move 2010 after the news) the 2010 GT might make a lot of sense. 400 hp sounds great but honestly 325 is more than enough to have fun as a daily driver.
if you get it for a good price it wouldn't be hard to enjoy it for two years and unload it for a 2012 at no loss.
