The Mustang will not get the ECOboost engine! The 5.0L will most likely be the limited edition BOSS and will cost more then the 4.6L GT that will still be around. The V6 will not have 315hp.

To the OP: I wouldn't call any year Mustang worthless. I used to think the Mustang II's would be scrapped and forgotten as a horrible mistake, and I have been proven wrong. Some people love those little (ugly) cars, and they enjoy restoring and maintaining them.

To the others: Do you really think they will put a twin turbo engine in the Mustang? Would that be a first (a turbo Mustang) or did the fox bodies already have a turbo back in the 80's? My memory gets fuzzy that far back.

I absolutely plan to wait, but only because I don't have enough money saved up yet for a 2010 to put me in a position where I would be comfortable with my monthly payments.

I currently have an 08 V6 that I love, so upgrading to any GT IMO will be absolutely fantastic. If I had the cash now, I'd go for a custom built 2010 complete with 3.73 gears, CAI+tune, exterior styling, paint stripes, etc. 315 HP is better than the 225 HP I am currently pulling. If I really wanted more than that on a 2010 if I had one, I'd simply upgrade to a supercharger. I cannot fathom that the 2011 GT's, if they contain a 400HP engine, will be the same MSRP price as the current 2010 GTs. Either way, 2010 or 2011, if you want the added HP, you're going to have to pay more for it. Ford isn't going to give us an extra 100 HP for free

But I will be waiting as I save my pennies for Ford to make their announcements on the 2011 engines in December. I will decide then and hopefully they release pricing too.

All signs point to the 3.7 (not the 3.5L EcoBoost!) as the base V6 and the 5L as the base GT engine.

But, we won't have to wait toooooo long to know -- the specs are to be revealed at the LA Auto Show in Dec. (http://www.egmcartech.com/2009/09/03...-specs-leaked/).

I would certainly wait. For all the "buy a '10 and put a blower on it" crowd -- there are other things to think about. Such as: financing (typically can't finance a blower/install/tune) upgrade potential, resale (won't get much/anything back for the blower when you sell), Insurance (it won't be covered, and may be grounds for some companies to deny coverage/claims altogether IIRC), and potentially reliability (though both should be pretty good). So, it really isn't as simple a financial calculation as it seems.
