Just about every pic you see advertising the 2010 GT smoke is flying,well mine wasn't so great.Took my son out to show him a little fun (he's 13 and loves the car) but didn't put on such a great show got a lot of wheel hop didn't expect that.Got the rev's up to about 4500rpm's and dropped the clutch,he grinned and said he thought it was great but not as thrilling for me as thought.Guess time for some performance up grades.

I didn't dump the clutch just turned traction control off and took off hard.Surprised me how much it burned in 1st and second. impressed my brother standing there.

...you can't do a burnout just from poppin the clutch.. you have to press on the brake.... sounds like youre just peeling out.
Did you read through that article? You really gotta not care about your car to do that stuff. It clearly says its Bad for the engine, Bad for the tranny, Bad for the tires, not so bad for the brakes. You could easily dump your auto tranny by doing this stuff. WOW, cars cost way to much to take risks like that. With that being said, who's first?

I used to do tons of burnouts and donuts and nuetral trans dropping when I was in high school. I had an old Ford with a 390 V8 and a C6 transmission. The car cost me about $400 if I recall. I beat the crap out of it and broke most everything at one time or another. For sure I replaced the transmission and several motor mounts. I also had to change the tires in the rear a lot and back in those days I got my tires from the wrecking yard for about $5. - Edit - My friends and I got so good at changing the motor mount on that old car we could do it in less than 10 minutes even without an engine lift, just a block of wood to hold the old 390 up
Today in my new 2010 Mustang when it gets here. I will peel out taking off but no way am I going to sit and burn the tires by power braking, etc. That was fun in high school in a car that was a few hundred bucks and a couple of wild teens with no brains.
In a $35k car, ummmm nope.

Back in the day, I had an early 80s Camaro (A/T). Please, hold down the jeers for the moment.
Long story short: I hopped in it, had the engine going and was ready to shove off in a leisurely manner when I spotted some coeds outside my window.
Well, I was so busy generating extra hormones, that I stepped on the throttle while it was in park, then without thinking -- I dropped it into drive with the RPMs up around 3K-4K.
Boy did I look (and feel) like a dork peeling out. Not to mention the damage I probably did to the transmission.
Yeah, new found respect comes with shelling out $$$'s for a prisitine piece of machinery.
