I have tint on both my headlights and foglights. So far, the headlights have no issues but the fogs are getting very thin cracks in the vinyl. I am going to get it looked at by the shop that sold me the vinyl since this is the EXACT concern I had about tinting them in the first place.

We have done the front windshield tint on a lot of new Mustangs at work.. I wanted to have it done 20%, which is really really dark, I had seen a black V6 that was done like that but it was only 15% on the sides.. The guy that does all our aftermarket stuff Billy is a friend of mine and he argued with me for a long time telling me 20% would get me in trouble and was trying to get me to go 40%.. so we met in the middle at 30% and I haven't had any problems yet.. though I won't be shocked if I do eventually get pulled over for it..

Does any one think, due to the heat produced from the lights and the tint being on them, could cause any damage to the lights themselves? I am not sure how hot it gets but could the tint melt at all?

One thing I'll tell you is that is you ever get into an accident, if the other driver is smart enough all he has to do is point out the tint on your front windshield and you are SOL! The insurance will blame you and the police will blame you, aside from giving you a ticket of coarse.

Tinting the front windshield or covering headlamps, not a bright idea.
Visibility is your most important sense for safe driving and you are just asking for trouble. Take it off before you hurt someone.

Cheers.

Only 30% you sissy, I got mine done 20% lol I got pulled over for it and the officer told me if I took care of it he would take care of the ticket, I went to my eye doctor the next day and got a prescription for tinted windows which is legal in both of the states I live in, I can have all my windows as dark as I want. Seeing at night in the county is hard though without any other light, as you said though it is the same as wearing sun glasses without, the a\c doesn't work very hard now either, and no one can see in.

My sides\rear is only 15% I wish I would have went 5%, I will probally get it redone, I wanted to do the windshield 30% but wanted it all one piece and my guy didnt want to order a entire role of 30% because no one gets their windows that light, everybody does 15% now.

On my next car I will do the windshield 30% and the sides\rear 5%

You are lucky they are so lenient in your state. In California they would probably impound your car if a cop pulled you over and saw that windshield like that. On other things they don't do jack here, but stuff like that, they love to give you a hard time.

Seriously... They should rename CA to

"The Peoples Republic of California"

If you park at LAX in the standard public parking lots the city goes in a gives tickets to all of the cars missing a front plate.

Insane but I love the weather here!
