Question Some clarity requested: TSB 09-12-7 NOISE FROM DOOR PANEL WHEN OPERATING AUDIO SYSTEM

TSB 09-12-7: TICK/POP/SNAPPING/BUZZ NOISE FROM DOOR PANEL WHEN OPERATING AUDIO SYSTEM - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 5/1/2009

2 questions regarding this TSB:
  • How 'obvious' is the noise? (i.e., does it occur at low volume levels and high volume levels?) Would I absolutely know if I had it or not? I suppose if I'm not that aware of it, I could leave well enough alone. But might as well get it taken care of while it's on my mind, lest it becomes worse over time.
  • This should be an easy answer, but how do you figure out the build date of your vehicle? I have the window sticker -- and see something of a date format code on it (with a bunch of other numbers in the box next to the "Final Assembly Point" box - but doesn't specify 'build date'.) And I don't readily find that the VIN number encodes a build date.
P.S. I know there have been countless posts about noise issues with the Shaker system; but I don't have that installed in my ride.

Check the sticker in your door jamb.

T.Y.

Addendum: Consider this thread a moot point for me (if the TSB date holds true.) After a quick check, mine was built after said date of the TSB specification.

I'll leave it to the moderators if they want to keep the thread alive for others.

You'll know if your door window switch panel is buzzing, trust me.
