Is a SCT/Intake combo better than buying separately?

I bought the combo for my v6 and it worked great. But now im getting a 2010 gt. Ive read that the combo is recommended to get. Would there be more gains buying the combo or buy a bigger intake then a separate sct?

I've posted a couple different places, but here ya go, the xcal3 cost about 300 to 400, a custom tune by a live person in your area about 150 and a new cold air system about 199 to 500 depends on what you want, like mine JLT carbon fiber. but my tune guy has done so many tunes he can't count and did my 2010 and another the other day, with exception to looks the new CAI in these new ones are just as good as a aftermarket one with K&N filter, too bad I had to learn hard way but all the older stang owners were sure this was like all the others, it's not, old one was more of a ram air, this is true cold air, so buy a hand held at local tune place and get tuned, I paid 550 with our club discount then bought my JLT for 449.00 and retune for 150 so hope can save you some $$$$,

Dynos don't tell the full story on parts like CAI's. Being stationary even the big huge fans can't duplicate real road conditions.

With larger intakes not only will you get some power but you will get better throttle response over the stock intake.

Anothing thing is not all cars are alike.

There have been a few magazine reviews along with manufacturer test that show the aftermarket intakes are better then stock. BUT they are not worlds better in power made.

If I was on a budget I would do just a tune.
If I had to get a intake and a tune I would at least get it from the same person, or at least get a tune from a reputable place either by mail or dyno tune.

I just ordered this tuner http://www.americanmuscle.com/diablo...ity-t1000.html and got it on 10/29/2009, I also order this http://www.cnlperformance.com/2010GT.html and it will be here on 11/03/2009 and they sent me a free custom tune and I paid 50 bucks for another one as they give you a better deal when you order straight from them. Ill post pics once I am done.

I was trying more to get at would a $600 ford racing intake and a sct perform better than a sct combo that you can buy?
