Ok guys, show me pics of a 10 or s197 on 30mm offset rear wheels
So I just saw a thread out in the main section on a dude who ordered the same wheel si ordered but in 20" size and they stick out. The seller i bought the wheels form said they were for a 05 up s197, but the 18 x 10 rears are 30 offset and after poking aroudn it seems that most 05 and up stangs go with 40 or 45 offset. The Op in the other thread says the stick out from teh fenders, which i do not want. Anyone got pics of a 10 preferably, or a 05 up if no 10 with a 18 x 10 rear with 30mm offset? If these aren't the correct wheels i will blow a gasket. i have noticed that a lot of sites are sellign 30mm offset wheels from shelby for the s197. I also noticed some of the godspeed wheels are also 30mm rear offset. maybe i am just worried after my bad luck, but i woudl like to see pics of 30mm off set rears if you ahve them.

Shane,
The wheels I have are 30mm offset on the fronts and they are 8.5". The rears are 19x10 and the offset is something like 47, I'll have to check. But the fronts with the 30mm offset sit right out at the fender just right. I have to say I think 10" wide rears with a 30 mm offset will sit out considerably.

I copied these down from another site awhile back. Came from a screen name "Squid" maybe that had high post count and from the general feedback to his post is pretty **** about the wheels being dead even with the fenders. I only wrote down the 2010+ numbers which will work for you. Keep in mind 05-09 are a hair narrower body wise than the 10+ so you would run a little higher offset to tuck them a hair more.
8" - 18.3mm
8.5" - 24.6mm
9" - 30.9mm
9.5" - 37.3mm
10" - 43.6mm
10.5" - 49.9mm
Which is going to be real close given 25.4mm=1" so you see with a .5" increase in width you would add 6.3mm(6.35 technically) to offset. He did say to keep in mind this is with the correct size tire and he left a little wiggle room. These numbers run pretty consistant with things I have looked at the last couple months. So on a 10" you should be able to get away with 40 offset min (keep in mind this would be even with the outside of the lip with a NO bulge tire). I would think...Of course you might have one car that sits a little wider or narrow than the next but surely not more than 6.35mm on a super "off" car.

So what are we talking here sticking out, i can't find a pic of a 30mm offset anywhere on a s197. We talking half an inch, an inch? what? I sent the seller an email and told him these werent the correct wheels for the year he specified. I think i am probably stuck with these things.

18x10 with 30off should be about 1/4" out. But there are tons of ifs in that statement so dont stress to much just yet. You figure if 43.6 is close then just say 40 would be even....so you have 10mm / 2 sides of the rim so only 5mm sticking out....which is less than a quarter inch. Not to mention the maker of the wheels may measure off 5mm or so......

Man if it's only a qtr of an inch, i thnk i can live with that. i hope its not bad, I'm never, ever buying anyting from eBay again. I shodl have stuck with AM or other reputable sellers. Just because it fits, doesn't mean it fits right. i had the 40 offset GT4's on my 05, they were tucke inside the fender about 1/4 of an inch, maybe these shelby's will be dead on. i cna hope, they are a dang mustang wheel. i can;t imagine shelby making a set tht sticks out from the fenders and calling it a stang wheel.
Dude if they are Shelby wheels they will be right unless it is the older style cars offset...like pre 05. Which ones did you get?
