Question boss 302 intake install on 2011 gt warranty void issue

I was thinking of adding the 302 intake to my 2011 gt and was concered it might void the warranty. Called 2 ford dealerships and got the same answer. It appears it will void the factory warranty because you would be putting more air into the engine and possiably damaging the internals. Has anybody come across this issue? I thought the boss 302 and gt shared the same motor and transmission except for the laguna seca. Thanks in advance

It does but the computer from the factory is tuned for that type of intake on the Boss models. A GT will not properly manage it without getting a tuner for it. Ford won't warranty damage caused by these mods. Damage however, is not likely if done properly.

it can only void the warranty if the manifold can be proven to have caused any problems to the car.

Is there any way to add the boss 302 manifold and just have the car reflashed by ford?

^ Doubtful but every dealership is different. Some dealers are A-holes and others are cool as hell. Only one way to find out!

The manager of my local dealership has a 2011 5.0 that he has an intake, tune, exhaust, boss manifold and 3.73's on. I wonder if hes worried about the warranty........

Just a thought. If you let the dealership do the work and order the part through them they may be willing to cover it. Thats what my Dad did with his supercharger and the dealership was willing to cover it.

Yeah, it's like I said, some dealerships are willing to work with you but others are just A-holes.
