Just like it's now June 2012 and the 2013 Mustang's have been out for a few months now.

To the original OP... I wouldn't sweat your decision. The 2013 Mustang is the first Mustang I liked since the 2005 - 2009 models. You did good. IMO the S197 body will never go out of style and 40 years from now they'll be sought after like the 60's and early 70's Mustangs are now.
There's definitely a lot of switching between 2014 and 2015 online. Basically, I assumed that the change will be for the 2015 model, which will be released in 2014. That would be the only explanation for the years being used somewhat interchangeably. Either that or every person that says 2015 is just plain wrong?

If you go strictly by years and the 2004 is the 40th Anniversary Edition and 5 years later the 2009 is the 45th Anniversay Edtion the it should follow that 5 years later the 2014 Mustang should be the 50th Anniversary Edition. The original Mustang was released in 1964 so it makes sense to me.

OP, congrats on the purchase and if I were you, I'd keep your stock wheels for a while if you're looking to upgrade to the aftermarket. From the sound of it, you're going to want to burn 'em every chance you get, I feel haha.

Impact, I can't get over how great your wheels and stance looks haha. You're really selling me on the DIB.

Large down payment. Hoping to have it paid off by the end of the year so I can do some serious modding.

Enjoy what you have and don't look ahead. That's what we did. And we never looked back. Going on 10 years with the '03 GT now.

I could understand if you were reconsidering because you want the V8, a different transmission, or even an additional OEM package applied to the car, but wringing your hands over a rendering is a waste of time.
Well, it would be like a new game system coming out. You know the release date of the new generation and you know it will be better, or at least not get any worse, but whether you choose to buy the current or upcoming, you are spending the same amount of money. The 2015 isn't going to be anymore expensive than a 2013 is now. I say OP you made a good choice. There will ALWAYS be something new coming out soon that will be bigger and badder. If you were constantly waiting for that next cool thing, you would be stick with your Jeep for a looong time! And welcome!!

I would not be surprised if they do hike the price though. I do agree about that waiting for the next thing. That 2015 won't be out for a long time...meanwhile the '13s are in showrooms and ready to roll today.

The price might go up due to being a new generation, but it will eventually go back down to what it is today. Just look at what they did with the s197s. I was too young to remember but that may be a good representation of what will happen. Maybe not though because that was quite a big leap!

OP if you are always waiting for the newer and sexier you'll do nothing but wait. I got my '13 just a couple of months after they shipped. I still get to drive my old '00 occasionally and can tell you that you have no reason to regret getting the '13. It's a fantastic car. And think of it this way, if the 14 or 15 is a drastic re-design then the '13 is actually going to be a bit of a one off year which will make it a relitively unusual car (and I mean that in a good way.)

I think you made the right choice. Ford has already anounced that they are ending the v6 and adding an ecoboost 4cyl and keeping the GT 5.0 and boss 302 and Cobra.
You have a mustang with pretty good power and fuel economy while in 2015 you will only be able to decide between a 250hp or 420hp+. Plus one of my buddies who is a salesman at my local Ford dealership said he saw actual pictures of the final 2015 body style and it does not look as good as the current styles. He said it looks more like a sedan than a coupe.
