Default Removal of Decklid panel. Anyone done it

I have the GT decklid panel and think its ugly. Has anyone removed it yet? What is the best way to do it?

Are they worth anything? I think i need to buy a faux gas cap to go with it.

You have to be patient, and I recommend the use of a heat gun and fishing line. The panel has 3m tape around the entire edge of the panel. Also will need to remove the retainers inside the trunk that hold the built on faux gas cap.

I was able to purchase a replacement faux gas cap from a friend that had one laying around that he had purchased as a back up when he was going to paint his stock one Black and Red.

WD-40 will work to get the tape off WITHOUT damaging the paint at all. Some solvents have the potential of hazing the paint. WD-40 on a rag and sprayed onto the tape will work great. Just make sure to clean it well after to remove the remaining residue from the WD-40 so that the new trunk medallion will stay on.
