Default To lower or not to lower

I guess the old tuner in me is starting to show. I've been thinking about having the S197 lowered. Nothing to aggressive just a 1.25" drop. Just looking for some advice. I'm 50/50 on it and just not sure.

this is a pretty personal decision, there are more pros than cons, though.

Less wheel gap and cornering is much better! Go for it!

If you have the money for it, DO IT. The wheel gaps on these mustang are hideous.

Of all the mods I've done (on any car) a better suspension is, by far, the number one. The reason I highlight the word "better" is because it's easy to just go for looks and drop the car with some springs. It goes much further when you replace the OEM dampers, springs, PHB, sways, LCAs, etc. with good quality performance parts.

The stock S197s have decently engineered suspensions, but they are still designed with the average drivers street comfort in mind. Even the Brembo/Track pack suspensions are weak and not really engineered for "track" use IMO. They are better than the normal GT suspensions, but can be greatly improved upon with little money involved.

My vote is: Do it! Do it now!

Thanks for the help. Still up in the air at this time but gave me some stuff to really think about.

Look at the Hotchkis sport Springs, we run them on our 13 Boss, perfect stance and even drop.

Steeda Sports... do it. Combined with Koni dampers, the ride is far better than stock. Not to mention the immense handling improvement.
