GT500 Rear Diffuser/Valance Question
Hey Guys,
I've painstakingly scoured the internet for days looking for an absolute answer and I've yet to find my answer. I've even called Late Model Restoration and American Muscle and I get "I don't know" as an answer. I'm hoping someone on here has done this conversion and would know for sure. I've got several variables to think about so stay with me here! :-)
I have a 2013 Mustang GT California Special. I'm wanting to convert the rear end to mirror 2013 GT500 rear end. I know I'll need the rear valance and the GT500 quad tip mufflers either from Ford, Ford Racing or Borla. I'm 99.9% sure I'll just get the stock mufflers from Tousley Ford (they are super inexpensive through them).
I currently have the Borla S-Type cat back exhaust system with X-Pipe. The Stingers are a little loud for my taste and the GT500 axle backs sound perfect for me. I've got a guy who is buying the axle backs from me for $600 so I'll take that and run.
Here comes the questions:
1. My borla over axle pipes are 2.75 inches in diameter. The GT500 mufflers are made to fit 2.75 inch piping so I know they will mate up. My question is will the GT500 mufflers match up with the bends of the Borla's over axle pipe?? Since the mufflers are designed to be a direct bolt on the factory over axle pipes, I'm wondering if Borla's "bends" are identical to the factory bends.
2. My California special already has a rear valance from the factory. Will the GT500 valance simply replace my stock valance? Late model restoration states that you have to cut a stock GT bumper for the GT500 valance to fit, but since I already have a rear valance, I'm curious if the valances would just swap out.
Thanks for the input in advance. I've been a member of this forum for a while, but rarely post. I'm hoping someone out there has first hand knowledge of this and can help a brutha out!

I spoke with the guys up at Tousley Ford and they were able to answer all of my questions. They are a great group of guys, and I was able to buy the whole kit shipped two day ground to my front door for $620!! These guys are over $250 cheaper than American Muscle and Late Model Restoration. They did confirm with me that since I already have the rear diffuser on my California Special, that the GT500 diffuser will bolt right up, no problem. No cutting or modifying at all. They said they've done several California Special to GT500 conversions with no problems at all...NO CUTTING!
