I've never heard that a locking gas cap is a stock feature. There is no locking mechanism on any model I've seen. (I've got a 2013). But... maybe I'm wrong.

My last two vehicles were BMWs so I've been out of the loop. Both of their gas doors locked when the car locked. At least on my pickup I can put a locking gas cap on it. I've found the gas door on the Mustang unseated a few times and I imagine the worst.

you can buy a locking gas cap, it doesnt lock with the car, thats a bit fancy for a mustang.

I've bought a locking gas plug for my 2012 3.7 & it's about $30.00 well worth the piece of mind.

Why waste the money on a locking gas cap? You can't siphon gas through the filler neck, the hose will not go past the check ball.

I'm not so worried about siphoning but more worried about someone putting something in. Re gas caps, you guys are clear I've got one of those "no gas cap" fuel doors, right?

Try opening the small flipper door by hand without a fuel nozzle. It takes a certain size tapered funnel or like object as there are locking tabs that need to be released. You should have that funnel in the trunk. To me, I would think someone would have to be on a mission to screw with Mustangs and that is a big hassle to have the right stuff but.....not saying it would not happen.

Add a lock if you like but the capless system is nice when the car is actually used.....no more scuffs on the side or lost caps at a station.

Just my opinion since owning my 11 for three years.
