Default Any suggestions for my first mods?

Hey all, just got my 2011 GT (my first American car actually) and I hate have a stock car as a general rule of thumb so I was looking to do a few mods right off the bad, had a couple general ideas but I was wondering what you guys thought.

Here is my car for reference

Was thinking Axle back exhaust, an intake of some sort and probably a couple small things like LED plate lights and maybe a different front grill. Nothing terribly expensive to start, just something to give it a little more sound, a little more performance and make it look different than every other mustang haha.

What are your thoughts on something like the ford racing kit with High Flow Air Filter, Ford Racing GT500 Axle Back, Performance Oil Filter, and a ProCal tool with performance tune. For $600 it seems decent but I wasn't sure how that compares to going the route of an aftermarket CAI and then an axle back from flowmaster or borla

Oh and any other cool little mods you guys might know of, completely new to the scene. Thanks!

Cold air kit, tune, exhaust, lower it. All of those you can install yourself.

Use the "search" key here in the forums. Lots of good discussion.

I would definitely lower it and add an aftermarket exhaust.

Alright, i am thinking the ford racing kit for $600 and then maybe eibach pro kit springs. I liked those springs on my audi's but i wasnt sure if they are a solid choice for this car?

I have had my car for a little bit over six months. So far I have added this parts to it. I ll give you a link as well to go with it.

I went with the Roush Axle back because my previous 2004 mustang GT had Borla Stingers, (Great sound and no drone at all) Same with the Roush. The Shiftknob I got because it looks cool and retro. The Clutch pedal extension, well I am a short gut 5 8" and this just makes it so much easier for me to press the clutch all the way down. It helps with seating position and saving your clutch as well.

I am so tempting to mod my car every day though!

Steeda is running a 20% off sale through Monday.

Yon won't be disappointed in a Cold Air Intake & Tune ... you will see very good gains with better shift points.

Add the exhaust ... then you are in good shape.

Here is our Axle Back exhaust:

I went with Borla ATAK axle-back and my brother liked it so much that he ordered one for his stang too. Then I just did little thing too (shift ****, window tints, chrome interior accessories).

I have a 2011 5.0 too. One of my first mods was the UPR ORX/Tuner package and it made a big difference! Of course, I put the UPR Lowering Springs on it right away, and they improved looks and handling as well. These are great first mods...

Small update:

Ended up getting the Ford racing performance pack and so far I like it, a little bit of performance and it sounds better too.

Picked up a few little aesthetic pieces as well, a billet engraved 5.0 cup holder cover, blacked out rear decklid, billet retro shift ****.

Will be ordering those Raxiom smoked halo headlights and an HID kit to go with it next along with a black retro billet upper and lower grill.

Shortly after I think ill be getting the Eibach Pro-Systems-Plus kit.

After that im looking at some more aesthetic pieces and probably better rotors/pads.

Longer term (IE next year) I will either A: Do a supercharger kit or B: if the funds are not there for that do a full header back exhaust, Boss 302 intake manifold, true CAI and appropriate tune.

Ill post some pics once I get the headlights and front grill installed, as right now its still pretty boring looking and B: covered in pollen

My perfect 2010-2012 stang would have:

BOSS/CS front bumper
Painted rocker panels (side skirts)
2013+ rear bumper w/ BOSS/CS lower valence
2013+ rear taillights

It combines all the sexy of the 2010-12 front end, with the hotness of the 13+ rear.
