Default Black out mufflers

I hate how you can see the mufflers on the '14. My wife has a white convert and I was thinking of painting the mufflers black so they dont stick out and make it harder to see. Has anyone done this?

Shouldn't be a difficult process. Been thinking about this one for a while myself. Black out the mufflers and keep the chrome tips.

Only thing holding me back is the potential for an axle back upgrade in the near future....

Yep. I hear you on that one. Im about to order the GT500 axle backs for her. I put an off road X-pipe and American Thunder axle backs on it but it was way way too loud. The axle backs were black and I loved the look. The GT500s are not black so Im thinking of painting them. It just looked so much better when you didnt see the mufflers.

When I installed my GT500's I painted the body of the mufflers black with some high heat paint. Personally I think it looks 100 times better.

I used some paint for barbeque grills - held up to many years and miles of driving.

Was something that bothered me as well. The stock mufflers stood out when viewed from the rear. I replaced my stock mufflers with GT-500 mufflers & painted the rear face with Hi Temp flat black paint.
Before & after pics.

I put GT take-off duals on my v-6. I noticed before I put them on that they would stick out like a sore thumb, so I painted them flat black before I installed them. You can hardly notice them....

Aircare, that looks so much better painted black. It's amazing how a simple can of spray paint can improve the looks that much.

Its worth the time to black out the mufflers so they don't stand out so bad.
