Default 2014 Chin Spoiler broken

Hi all,

I bumped a curb and ripped 6-7 of the bolts/screws holding up the chin spoiler on my 14.

They actually ripped out of the bumper itself still attached to the U-shaped things. I attempted to re-drill holes and re-use the new U-shaped things however the chin spoiler is actually bent weird and no longer fits properly with the shape of the bumper cover.

I am unsure if the splashguard is damaged that goes under the radiator before the engine cover, I'll need to check this...

That being said I need a new chin spoiler, and tips on how to exactly install it... ? Can I drill new holes into the bumper cover and attach it like that or what would you guys suggest?

Was it a stock chin spoiler? I'd recommend the Roush chin spoiler. You have to cut your existing chin spoiler (or what's left) to install it, but I've heard of people just doing away with the stock spoiler all together for the install. You have to drill new holes in the lower part of the bumper to install the Roush part anyways, giving you some more mounting points. I don't know exactly how bad your existing situation is without pictures, but if you go look at the spoiler on American Muscle, there are directions you can look at to see if it will work for you.

Go to a hardware store and get some new hardware that includes "oversized" standard cut washers for the top and bottom. The oversized washers will help draw the chin spoiler to the bottom of the bumper when the hardware is tightened up.

A short 1/4" bolt should be fine, (2) oversized standard cut washers per bolt, and (1) 1/4" nut per bolt.

I hope this makes sense....just a thought without seeing pictures.

Good luck!

Photos would help. Are you lowered?
