My 2014 Bagged Mustang so far.
Ive been on the forum since i was 16, got my first mustang (05 V6) and have been addicted ever since. Last January i purchased a brand new 2014 Mustang 5.0. black, and i made sure i got the Track Pack with the TORSEN 3 :73, 6 speed manual, and Recaros. I love my car but i couldn't leave it stock. here are a few pics of the day i got her:
i couldn't leave her stock. so the modding began..
5% window tint was first.
Then i got my Roush axle back exhaust, tint for all the ugly orange lights, and an oil catch can:
A few months later i got my intake and tune. i also cut the lower part of the back bumper to install my Boss 302 Diffuser but the exhaust tips that came with the Roush mufflers looked very small so i made some bigger ones:
Next, i decided i wanted the GT500 spoiler
After that i decided i was tired of the 4x4 look so i started preparing her for lower suspension. i started with a Whiteline rear Sway Bar which made a huge difference. Then i installed the Whiteline adjustable control arms and relocation brackets. Next i got the adjustable Whiteline panhard bar to center my axle once it was lowered.
Then, a few months of hard work and saving... i purchased my wheels, tires, and suspension
I got the Airlift Performance air suspension. Its fully automatic, i have a controller in the center console that gives me the pressure of each individual bag, and also the pressure in my tank. I can adjust the bags individually or make presets. My number 1 preset is 50psi all round. It sits about 2.5 inches lower then stock, this is my driving height, it gets me over speed bumps and out of driveways. If the bump is huge, i just simply air up another inch, its great. And then at shows, i air all the way out for the slammed look.
Airbags were the best option for me because i have a nasty driveway lip, and i wanted to keep the comfortable ride. Being able to adjust the pressure in each bag is great and its so easy, i just tap a button. There is a compressor mounted in the trunk and it kicks on automatically if the tank gets below 135 PSI. If the tank looses pressure the bags won't because the air is run through an electronic manifold with check valves to stop back flow.
The struts in the front and the shocks in the rear have 15 way dampening adjustments also. I took the car up the mountain a few weeks ago and before i left i aired down to 40 psi (lowest i can go without rubbing the front wheels to the fenders during a turn) and stiffened the dampening on the shocks. It handled just as well as your mid to high end coiovers! not to mention its still relatively comfortable for being on its stiffest. I am so happy with them!
i forgot to mention the shocks are also height adjustable, the body is fully threaded, Amazing quality!
rear bag in place of the sping
new swaybar links and the front struts
And finally:
The install took forever! Being a mechanic, i didn't find it difficult, it was just time-consuming. I am very particular and picky about my car, made sure every wire was out of sight and even used black wire looming on all the wires so if for any reason i have to take my kick panels off or my seats out, everything looks stock.
Hope you enjoyed Next up will probably be headers and a Boss intake manifold, but not for a long time..

Thanks!
its not a typical u joint at the diff side, its a CV so it isn't much strain on it. I do have a whiteline upper control arm that i haven't installed yet but that will allow me to adjust it. The lower control arms are adjustable and i had the alignment shop set that up for me.
My younger brother has coilovers and he has no driveshaft supporting mods and his car is fine. His ride height on his car is about the same as mine when i am daily driving it.

Really wicked looking. I love it. What does the sway bar have to do with suspension? Obviously I'm not a mechanic, so pardon my ignorance. Also it looks lil you tinted the windows from the original condition but you don't mention that. Any tips on tinting?
If I could ask a general question, what made you buy a new car and customize it instead of an older one? I'm struggling with that decision myself. I think I'd rather have the warranty and the new car smell and all that, plus the security of knowing the car hasn't been dogged. Was that your basic reasoning?
