It's certainly possible and is done all the time. But, unless you're able to do all the work yourself, the cost will be way more than the finished car will be worth. If you want a V8 car, you're much better off to keep looking for exactly the one you want.

he got it.. it'd be neat to have an engine swap, but after all the work, and modifications you'd have to make, it'd be much cheaper, and would take ALOT less time to just find a GT from some year, or a 5.0 Fox

Get an older Stang and you'll have more money for mods. I'd suggest a 5.0L model for limited budgets.

not worth it

i did it to a 1997 v6

from a 1997 v6 to a 1999 gt, total cost so far 5500.00

2200 for engine trans comp and wiring,

1000 for other parts (exhaust. irs rearend, water pump, power, steering pump, brake booster, ect)

400 for hand held tuner(to turn off pats )

2000 between labor and other crap

still not done, need 1 harness no one seems to know what it is! ! !

wiring was a biotch

but she runs and runs well, when she is not it a picky mood, if asked would i do it again, i woud say hell ya but this time with a 03-04 cobra motor

also no one will help you with this swap, they will do it for 5500 + parts, but no one will actually give you info on it

In older cars you can swap motors out like it's no ones business but not as easily with newer cars. You might as well just wait it out and buy an already V8 like already said.

Go for a 5.0 there all over the place for cheap, and with little money you can make them pretty darn quick if your on a limited budget, get one for like 3-4 grand and spend the remaining money on mods. Or you can wait it out and get the right year you like.
