jacobs electronics

Put the package in; coil failed at 900 miles, 800 away from home.
The module failed totally at 13 months (of course) No response from Jacobs to emails (of course)
While in the car and hooked up, mileage went from 24.5mpg to a bare 23mpg Freeway mpg.
MPG monitored on trips to mn and va from ca, so not a short comparison.

94 GT/SS Vert 5 spd.

SS = Strictly Stock - well, almost

Bottom line folks. If teams of very talented engineers from any of the automobile manufactures could squeeze just one more MPG out of their existing product they would (key word is existing). Good CAFE numbers can save them millions. If any of the crap the after market sells really had merrit it would be under your hood already. Redesigning an engine is an expensive undertaking. Fans, magnets or any of the other 'wounder products' during a large production run would cost the factories less than a penny per unit, especially if any of them actually worked. Putting out the flame before it's typed, the quality low restriction air filters, intake systems and exhausts available in the aftermarket that improve performance and economy (yes they do work) probably fail a noise requirement the manufactures are bound to. Thanks to SEMA the Feds seem to be cutting us a little break in this area. Most of these product are still available without the dreaded disclaimer "for off road use only".

Don't forget the factories have to make sure their cars will pass emissions for a very long period of time. This also will have a detrimental affect on short term economy.

Please add the turbonator.

I was stupid and bought one of these for my e46 325ci cause it had a 30 day money back guarantee.

0-60 w/3 people in car: 8.9

Did about 3 or 4 runs.

Then we stopped and installed it

0-60 in 9.4 RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

Doesn't do ANYTHING, except probably increase MPG cause NO AIR CAN GET IN AFTER YOU SHOVE IT IN YOUR AIR FEED PIPE.

Got my $$$ back.

One of the biggest theives of HP and MPGs is carbon build up in the intake and heads, along with sludge in the block. A simple way to clean out some of the carbon is to take denatured alchahol in a spray bottle (available at hardware stores and the hair aisle respectively). Pt the alchahol in the bottle and spray it through your throttle body/carb while the engine is idling, until the bottle is empty. Next, if you have an older engine (or alot of miles)get 1 gallon of deisel fuel and 1 quart of auto tranny fluid and an extra oil filter. When you do your next oil change drain the oil as usual and take off the old filter, next pt on the extra filter on and put the drain plug back in. Now pour the deisel and auto tranny fluid in and turn the car over and allow to idle for about 30 minutes *DO NOT REV THE MOTOR, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED* After the 30 minutes is up, drain the sludge and remove the filter and dispose of properly (most auto shops dispose of your old oil for free). Now put on the second filter and put in the correct ammount of oil. Again allow the motor to idle for another 30 minutes and enjoy.
