Its actually not bad at all going from a 302 to a 351w in a 94-95 car. I have been ableto fit a complete take out motor from a 94 Lightning into my 95 and still use the stock hood. There are a few tricks. The swap is different form the Fox body cars. The front accessories from the 94-95 are reused for the 351. They don't present any clearance issues either. The only thing that becomes a hassle is the headers. If you want long tubes and don't want the hassle of making them work by clearancing or denting a tube or two then buy a set of Kooks or accufabs. If it is making over 500 rwhp do the same. If you use shorties you can use most sets of fox headers. You cannot use equal lengths. Warning: they won't fit. I hear people complain about the computer and say that it won't run right. If your car is already running ok and has no issues then a chip won't give you much more power. I swapped in a Cobra R model computer that i had and it didn't make anymore power. It was a little more responsive down low but, didn't offer anymore on the dyno. This was done before and after a cam swap. The A9L swaps are also a waste of money for the 94-95. You have to buy a fan controller and change the pin programmingwhereas you could by a tweecer and be done with it. I do quite a few of these and own a few S-351 cars. If you have any questions on the swap or need special parts let me know. Send me an e-mail to
