Hello to everyone....... newbie here from NC. I splurged last Fall and bought an 06 GT conv. "Sally" is my very 1st Mustang or hot- rod car of any type.Man was it a blast to ride around with the top down!! Can't wait for summertime. Bought it slightly used - only 1 mod............ a set of flowmasters - they sound decent. I plan to do some performance upgrades later. My 1st project for it tho is going to be putting a set of Cobra 2000 R rims on it. To go along with this - I'm wanting to get some lo-profile tires and a lowering kit. I was thinking of 235/45 or 225/45. What name brands should I try to stick with and which should I avoid? Any suggestions on a lowering kit (this area I am really unfamiliar with). I've read the forum about the springs and lca, etc - but I am still green on this subject. Thanks sincerely for your replies.

I would personally stick to a tire that is 27 inches in diameter or very close. A 235/45/17 is way to small and looks funny even with the car lowered.

I agree that you would want to increase no decrease tire size. It will look very odd. 45 is not very low profile either. Stock being 55. What is the width of the wheels you want?

go with the eibach pro kit. its reasonable in price, easy install and a lot of people have it and enjoy it. get an adjustable pan hard bar to center the axle. thats a must. i personally went with the eibach kit and 18x9 chromedeep dish rims with 265/35/18 on all 4 corners and it looks totally bad as*! i havent done the lca's yet and i dont think its totally necessary but it does line up ur drive train to normal specs. ive read a ton on tokico d-specs too and everyone loves em. i would def go with a lower profile than a 45-55 and wider than 245. jmo. i wish i could get pics up of my car to show ya but this dang thing wont let it happen for some reason?!?![:@]any ways i hope i helped ya a lil bit. im sure more will chime in on this topic!! good luck!!

I have 1995 cobra R rims. using 235/45/18 Looks good in the front but wheel gap in th eback. I think if you lower itll look fine

Use an online tire size calculator to determine the overall diameter of the tires you choose. I just happen to have some 235/45/17 mounted on the rims off my ranger and it looks silly on my mustang with a 1.5 inch drop. Way to much wheel well gap.
