Default PCV Valve on 4.6 Engine ?

Our owner's manuals say that the current 4.6 doesn't have a standardservicable PCV valve. Am I reading and understanding this correctly?

I'm concerned because I had a car of another make whose engine had a PCV valve but it couldn't be changed out by the owner. With about 50,000 miles on the clock, crankcase pressure built up so much that I had terrible oil leaks. Does this seem to be an issue with the Mustang 4.6 L engine?

Thanks, gentlemen.

I think instead of having an actual valve like most PCV's in the past, our cars just have an unrestricted tubefrom the valve cover to the intake. So there shouldn't be a valve that can get stuck and cause oil leaks because of too much crankcase pressure.

The nipple on the intake maniforld where the driver's side PVC hose connects has an orifice. This roughly meters the flow rate from the valvecover and crankcase. There's no real PVC valve to service or clean, although periodic cleaning of the hose and orifice might be a good idea.

Bumping this just to verify it's validity. No little rubber insert with a ball present in either the side of the crankcase? No means to clean whatever passes for one in our models, aside from what Stooge states, as in using a rag to clean any oil in that little opening?

My 2010 has a check ball in the drivers side valve cover vent. I know earlier ones had it too because I pulled it out for a custom venting the valve cover. I don't think there was any rubber in there but wont swear to it. If it were ever to get sticky a couple squirts of carb cleaner would clean it out.

See, that's what I thought. I'll have to do this later with some carb cleaner. I was a bit hesitant to start prodding the 2 spots with a small screwdriver.
