Mine does the same thing. Regardless of what the dealer says, I don't think it is normal and i want something done about it.

Hello all I got my 2011 v6 in August in I got my oil changed it started making weird clicking sounds on a cold start up. It was so bad I thought man they didn't put enough oil in the car, so I checked the oil everythings good. It goes away later on but this stupid plus my auto transmission (wish I didn't get) is horable at stop signs you have to stop completly or it will go boom its upsetting paying this much for a car and have these little things that are very annoying lol. The motor is really great very powerfull for a v6 just up set with this clicking and my auto trany.

now heres my question, how many have heeded the you don't have to do first service until 10,000 miles, I assume most have changed at 3 to 5000, so I'm going by my advisories i get in email, I have 4,500, email says remember next oil service in 5500 miles. maybe they programmed that tick, if you change early lol...or could be the aftermarket sound system I have is really loud at 4 dots on the display and I keep at 6?

Hmm... anyone have any sound clips of what the sound is, that they believe is an issue? I had a '97 V8 F-150 with the tick tick tick sound at cold start up and it lasted 180k miles without any 'tune' ups... likewise I have a ticking during a cold start, haven't changed the oil yet and I'm sitting at 8k miles.

If the transmission in your car is acting up, get it in and have it taken care of. I wouldn`t like having my tranny go "boom" either. Don`t put up with it another day!

I did take it to the dealer and they said "its normal for your transmisson to do that". Iam like ok man what a ***** he was. I don't think thats normal I might have to take it to another dealer. Its only when your crusing then slow down to first if you hit the gas when its going into first it goes clunk it kinda like its to slow or something you can feel it shifting and then i hit the gas everyother gear shifts fine once its in first its fine, I dont know lol. sorry didnt mean to hijack this thread lol .

I only have about 2200 miles on my V6, but I have had plenty of cold weather. No indication of any "ticking sound."

Here's another guy with the same problem. Looks like this has been going on for a while....

I cannot believe I traded my Scion for this headache. It never gave me problem one.

I posted this on the other forums, but figured I would post here as well...

I was showing my buddy the ticking from my car and decided to make a video. Sorry for the bad quality it was taken from my phone.

Jump to about 1:50 to hear the outside.
