No they didn't. The funny thing is that my tuner was in the trunk of the car. It was pre-installed with custom tunes. The Ford mechanic installed the race tune for me without me even asking him. He also went as far as saying that if i had any issues tunning it, that he would help me out free of charge. Men that is great customer service. I called 3 other dealers before I found that dealership and they basically told me to F--K off. They were good with me

I've got a 3.31 auto ,cold air,but no tune as yet . I can tell you first gear is gone quick at only 33 mph. This 6 speed is geared alot lower than the old school autos. I question that there would be much difference between a 355 ,373 and a 410 in the 1/4.

I absolutely love these 3.73s and tune... I keep it on the 91 street tune for daily driving but will load up the race tune when I take her to the track.

Hey guys,

I am curious - how much do Ford Dealerships / or other mechanics charge to install gears?

Thanks in advance..

Believe it or not, dealers now are forced to lower their prices because they are noticing consumers are going elsewhere. They use to jack people for god knows how long and now they are coming around. Although, they are not competing with local speed shopS, at least you will have the piece of mind that the dealer installed it.

My 4.10 gear cost about 200 bucks before taxes for the part from the dealer. Then charged me 5 hours labor. I already know someone is going to post that it could be done faster than that, trust me I know. But this job is technical and not everyone can do it. It will probably cost you a total of around 800 or so depending on what dealing and wheeling you do at the service desk

I went to a local ford dealership and they had the Ford racing 3.73 in stock. $550 for Gears and install. The speedo however was messed up as expected after the gear install. I was going down the highway and it said I was going 100-105 mph, and people were passing me. I did however have a SCT BAMA Tuner that I ordered and tuning it fixed the speedo.

Yeah I heard of people paying $800-900, sometimes not even including the gears. I was pretty happy with the price.
