Exclamation Check your cai filter! Mine has a hole in it.

Hey fellas.

First off, let me clarify that the filter did NOT come this way. I installed it wrong.

Where the filter ends up is right next to the brake ABS controller. Well, that controller is milled aluminum and has very sharp corners. I was doing some under hood checks and realized that my filter assembly was pushed forward and rubbed that corner.

It's easy to not line the tube up quite right when you attach it to the throttle body, and that's what I think happened here.

Now the filter is probably ruined. So, my advice is to watch out for this problem area when orientating the filter.

Really close fit on the C&L intake when I installed it the first time. Noticed it was rubbing the next day, so I re-installed it and ended up with a little more clearance. Something to keep an eye on for sure!

The C&L install directions caution you to keep things lose to make sure you clear tha ABS module. Mine was real close , but after a little persuasion fit nice.

Solved the space issue........I had 2" clearance and now 4"......you get what you pay for,,,I used the soft coupling they sent, then I paid 22.00 for one from my race shop....stronger, solid and gives that clearance....... see blow, stock coupling and then good one attached. and because not hanging down anymore the enclosure is probably sealing against thehood more too!
