Default 3.7 worth trading a 4.0 in for???

i was just curious if any of you 3.7 guys have driven a 4.0 and if there is that much of a difference? i know there is a lot more horsepower and torque. my 2010 has a CAI/Tune/exhaust and it is much better then what it was. would there be much of a difference between my 'modded' '10 and the 3.7. i thinking about some other mods (mostly visual) and wondering if i should just save the money and get the 3.7. i would get a black mca, performance pack, HIDs, rear view, nav and this would look quiet different then my kona blue premium package. i think i like the V6 over the base GT and in canada here there is a big difference in the price. rather have a fully loaded 3.7 then a base 5.0 that still costs more. any opinions are appreciated.
thanks

I rode on a test drive with my friend. The car is torque and more powerful than a 4.0 by quite a bit. If you really want to see the difference I would go test drive one and see just how much more you like it.

The difference between my `07 4.0 and my `11 3.7 with with just a tune was 1 full second in the 1/4. that is performance you can feel.

The biggest change comes as a result of the completely different power bands on theses two v6`s. My 4.0 would whip the 3.7 for the first 60 ft or so due to better torque lower in the rpm range. However once the 3.7 reaches about 2800 rpm it no longer feels like a v6 at all. Power comes on strong and keeps comming untill my auto shifts about 6850 rpm.

The only thing you can do is drive a few new ones and then you can decide if the expense is worth it to you. Just my 2 cents worth.

Its more than worth it imo, one of my good buddies has a 2010 v6 and the 3.7 is just a whole different monster. Not to mention once you start modding that thing it just begins to turn into an all out race car.

If the motors hadn't changed I would have gotten the 4.6 v8, but the new 3.7 hangs with it and beats it with mild tuning and has better mpgs. No brainer to me if you are wanting to upgrade.

How do you like it? I have a Droid X but haven't seen anything I think is compelling to switch to other than the Thunderbolt. I think I am going to wait for the Targa to come out.

Love my Droid X, I use ActiveSync for my work email. My work allows multiple platforms, which can be stressful for IT to support but God bless them they do.
