Thinking of undoing my mods

Based on all the good information here, I finally decided to go with a 275/40-19 setup for the rears. I am going to get 3.73 gears hopefully by Spring, and didn't want short tires that would accentuate the revised gearing .

Yup, that was surely the case, I did have a reputible shop (rearend specialties in Santa Clara CA) put the car back to stock. When the old gears were removed, the pinion showed major wear around the shaft. Also they noted not only stripped threads but that the shaft had been cut to almost half its original length. Hardly enough space for the nut. This guy looks like he got over his head for damn sure. Oh well, car is running fine now, lesson learned I guess

Reputable with a history of doing what you want done = success
anything else = stress & possible mess
I'm shopping for places near me to do my suspension install, taking input from locals and found some really great local shops near me (the stress is gone) - needless to say to my shock (punnage not intended) and awe, so far the Ford dealership itself is offering me the best price w/ alignment - better than 3 custom do-it-all-shops with good reps to boot.
Still shopping to be sure, but dang who better to take it to than Ford I'd think..

Hey Jerry, I'm glad you took my advice. Happy Birthday, what are you older than dirt now? Is that a Fatboy? Where's you pick it up from?
