I'm new to a 2012 V-6 Auto, Premium, Mustang (little over 1000 miles). When I accelerate hard from a stop I hear a whooshing sound from the engine or transmission area. It doesn't sound like knocking, more like rushing air or hissing. Is this the normal sound from the intake or exhaust? I've check for exhaust leaks and everything seems tight. Can't get the same sound from just reving the engine with the hood up.

Can't get the same sound from just reving the engine with the hood up but if I stab the throttle quickly I can hear a rush of air that sounds like an open carburator.

Yeah, I'd say so. I don't remember how my stock intake used to sound, but these cars like to breathe under heavy load.

Sorry, I should have removed the original post when I posted to the main board, I though my question would get more exposure over there than on the 3.7 board.

Yeah that is normal. When you put on a new intake, wait for that. I put a C&L on, and when it downshifts hard, it sounds like a blow-off valve lol
